CGI, AI Bruno Lawrence to play father who goes bush with his children, staging their disappearance

Only one New Zealand actor had the qualities to play the part of Xander McClaren, the man who parked his ute at the foot of a glacier and disappeared with his two children. but that actor was dead.

It was a story that captivated a nation - a father and his children assumed dead after disappearing in unforgiving country, only to walk into his brother’s home three months later for Sunday roast.

This tale demanded the country’s greatest rugged leading man in the lead role, but that man - Bruno Lawrence - had been dead for decades.

Enter Weta workshop and two British actors: ping pong ball specialist Andy Serkis for the physical acting; and renowned NZ accent expert Anthony Hopkins for the voice work.

Weta inputted data from the films Smash Palace, Vigil and the Quiet Earth to their gigantic networked cloud mainframe central repository distributed content generation matrix and layered the automatically generated NZ gothic landscape and characters over live acting.

Any similarities to real or fictional events are really fictional.
